The product experience
The application brings the selling interface together with product inventory, order history, purchasing, suppliers, stock movements and profit reporting. Separate customer and kitchen displays support the wider sales workflow, while administrative screens handle users and audit information.
Technology behind the experience
Electron connects the React interface to a local database through the desktop application layer. Keeping storage on the till removes the need for a separate database server. The important architectural boundary is between interface actions and persisted business records: a sale must remain useful after the screen closes and without an internet connection.
